Thanksgiving For All Things
Hello, my name is Ronald B. Wiggins, Founder and President of CQ Christian Quarterly; a dynamic, lifestyle changing Christian Spirit-filled magazine. Over the years during my spiritual journey, I was faced with lots of trials and tribulations that all of us Christians face. But through it all Christ was victorious. God placed this vision in me and on my heart to bring forth a magazine for His people that will inspire, educated and glorify God’s kingdom by helping Christians like you to live sanctified, righteous and prosperous lives.
As we come into the season of Thanksgiving, we as Christians need not to forget where the Lord has brought us from. The world calls it a national holiday, but for us everyday should be Thanksgiving. Thanking the Lord for the grace and mercy that He bestows upon us each and everyday is a blessing. November is the time for Thanksgiving, but one might be saying, “how can I be thankful when I’m single and want to be married?” or “Dear God, how can I ever be happy and thankful without a child,” or “Father God, how can I thank you for not having enough money to pay bills and pay my mortgage?” How can we have thankfulness in our hearts when situations around us are at a point where we feel like throwing in the towel? If we are not thankful, we become bitter and angry with God because we think He is not providing what we feel we rightfully deserve. If we are not content with what we do have, we become rebellious and start complaining about what other people around us are getting, or that their prayers are being answered and not ours.
These complaints make us feel like God is not trustworthy and that He does not desire to meet our needs. But, ultimately He is involved in our lives. He works out His plan through the events that happen in our lives so that we may be conformed to the image of His son, Jesus. We must always praise and thank Him for giving us eternal life by sending His son to die on the cross to redeem us from our sins. God’s love for his people is steadfast. Even though our marital status, finances or career is not the way we would like it to be or have fallen apart completely, His love for His children is not determined by the circumstances in our lives. We should and must always give the Lord thanks for His love, grace and mercy towards us. We must serve the Lord faithfully with an honest heart and always remember to trust in Him no matter what.
Because everyday is Thanksgiving!
Peace and Blessings,
