SEEKING GOD'S INHERITANCE
The word seek means to search, inquire or try to find or get or reach. Matthew 7:7 states, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." (KJV) The Lord wants us to seek Him and learn from Him. Seeking Christ requires us to daily, read, meditate and study His Word. If we seek Christ, He will reveal to us the promise He made to our forefather, Abraham.
Seek and you will find! We must press on towards seeking our inheritance that God promised to Abraham. We are descendants of Abraham and we are entitled to that inheritance. In order to obtain our inheritance we must focus on Jesus and on being obedient. God has promises to bless those who obey Him; not saying that God will always bless us with material wealth. But one thing is for certain, when following God's way we will be better off than when we go our own way.
We should not only concentrate on receiving personal wealth from the Lord as our inheritance. Even though the Lord said we may live our lives here on earth in abundance, we must also concentrate on our inheritance in heaven. Being obedient to the Lord and the salvation of our faith ensure us making it there.
Sometimes, when we start to receive personal wealth from the Lord, we tend to forget that it was God and not by our own doing. Deuteronomy 8:18 states, "But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God; for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy father, as it is this day." (KJV)
Our forefather is Abraham and since we are descendants from his lineage we can claim our inheritance. God made us the head and not the tail. We must believe we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13). So step out in faith and start that new business, create that new invention or write that book, because the seed of wealth is inside you waiting to have intercourse with your faith to bring out the manifestation of your covenant with God.
Abraham's faith should be a model for us all. Abraham never saw a Bible, had never been to a church, heard not one of the Ten Commandments, yet had undeniable faith. He showed us what really mattered. Abraham heard the voice of God and dared to simply believe he could trust God when He spoke. Can there be anything better to demonstrate that it is faith and faith alone that we receive the goodness and mercy of the Lord to change us and better equip us for our inheritance in heaven?
Now I pose these questions to you. How strong is your faith and how obedient are you in seeking your inheritance? Do you believe everything the Bible tells you about what is due you? Hmmm. Amen!
