An Assured Promise

 

This year and the last has been for many a challenge. Many people have found themselves deep in debt, or their houses foreclosed or their jobs lost and even their savings wiped out. For many the squeeze has been unbearable! But for those who have put their trust in Jesus....there is a promise in His Word that if we wait on Him....Saints, He will come through!

But what do we do while we wait? Well, first of all, we are not just told to wait...We are told to wait on the Lord. We should be waiting in readiness. We should be waiting in anticipation of what the Lord will do. We should be reading His Word, the Bible, while we wait. We should pray while we wait. We should be listening for His voice to give direction and comfort while we wait. We should be obedient to His instruction while we wait. We should be helping others while we wait. We should stay faithful, positive and confident while we wait!

When you read the above scripture, it looks as if it is in the reverse; that if you wait on the Lord, you can be confident that you will see the goodness of Him in the land of the living. But I believe that the fact that the promise comes before the command is proof that when we have faith and believe first, we can be confident that if we just wait on Him, He will come through for us!

We must be confident, faithful and of good courage while we wait on Him!
